Our program is a coaching skill development program based on theories from psychology, leadership, and personality. We bring the theory of human behavior into our training to help you gain foundational principles needed to understand people. Our training uses adult learning principles to engage the mind and body. We offer active learning modules that help the learners immediately put the skills taught into action. We have application cases that can be reviewed and completed to keep your skills fresh and maximize class time.

Our goal is to give coaches the skills and resources needed to help members in the organization be and do more through self-awareness.

We use successful strategies from the field of human performance, learning, and motivation to empower our coaches and build on coaching competencies. We focus on the ICF Core Competencies as a primary toolkit for training and development.

Motivational Interviewing in Coaching

This type of coaching is designed to bring about behavioral change. The coach helps the client explore and resolve ambivalence and then find the best possible solution. This method involves asking questions and acting as a soundboard for the client to determine the cause of his or her conflict and ultimately change to resolve it. The interview questions are designed to be non-judgmental, non-confrontational, and non- adversarial.

SCARF

SCARF stands for Status, Certainty, Autonomy, Relatedness and Fairness – five key domains that influence our behavior in social situations. It was developed by David Rock in 2008. This is based on threat and reward perceptions that a human brain feels during physical survival. The session will teach practical tips to increase the sense of reward and eliminate threat perception.

Review of ICF Core competencies and Ethics

ICF has developed competencies that support coaches with appropriate skills and approaches. The trainer will take the trainees through each core competency, its importance and use. The trainer will teach and reinforce the development of these competencies to improve coaching performance.

Coaching techniques for coaches

Building trust, effective setting of goals, providing encouragement are some of the coaching techniques that make coaching effective. This course will reinforce these techniques.

Listening

If we do not listen actively and effectively, the “noise” in conversation cannot be eliminated and interpretation of messages maybe incorrect. The coaches will be taught tips and tricks to listen effectively and interpret accurately.
